The MARTIAL ARTIST deck = 50 cards in deck + 1 outlier card

Let this be known upfront, there are no projectile attacks in this deck. Unless you have help from your profession deck, all of your attacks will be melee attacks. That being said, the Martial Artist is a melee specialist. The deck works off style cards (karate, judo, aikido etc…) that have one or two basic abilities that you can do. The bad news is they have a low chance to fail. The good news is, style cards have perma, which means you can keep using it round after round. There are ‘Dojo’ cards to let you fetch style cards and ‘Martial Mastery’ cards to allow you to use the more advanced moves of that style. There is plenty to love about this deck if you are a fan of martial arts, and making those high-pitched sounds as you knock people around is always fun. All style cards have melee defenses and with ‘Martial Mastery’ you can perform area dodges or even punishing counter-attacks. You have to see this deck for what it is. You wont be flying through the air or shooting beams from your hands but you will be going around beating the snot out of people. Some of the combos and techniques you can pull off are really effective and satisfying. Deckbuilding is advisable as it would allow you to get more ‘Martial Mastery’ cards, style cards, healing cards like ‘Ki Meditation’ and anything else you’d like. I didn’t even mention the special ability that lets you interrupt melee attacking or defending foes. This deck is aces in close quarters but if your opponent can keep you at a distance though…

With martial art concepts and the need to use specific cards to use advanced techniques, this is ranked as an INTERMEDIATE deck and receives a rating of (drum roll please)…GOOD.
