GENIUS

Although this deck is called the Genius, you really don’t need to be one to use it well. It may be a bit more complicated than most but that’s a very small price to pay for everything that you get. Know upfront, that if you’re using a laboratory (and you should, those cards are great!) you will need to do labwork (prep time) for a number of rounds and no opponent is just going to sit there while you build a bomb or something. That’s where “plan” cards and the like come in handy. It’s great when you can out-fox your foe but it sucks when your trying to make something and your constantly getting attacked. The Genius is mostly an item-user but there are some cards that rely solely on intellect. This deck has good defenses on top of being able to outsmart attacking foes and that’s good, because you will need them if you ever do labwork. The things you can do with the ‘Genetics Laboratory’ are AMAZING. The special ability is rather handy too, as it allows you to give up cards to fetch (that’s right, fetch. Not draw) cards, which can be huge. Deckbuilding is super helpful as you can add more plan cards and defenses for when you do labwork. At the end of the day, this is a thinking persons deck. With it’s high science and technology concepts, this is no doubt an INTERMEDIATE deck and even though there are some obvious drawbacks with respect to prep time and item use, the sheer amount of things you can do (and do well I might add) with this deck make it GREAT!
